Minot Rose Garden Winthrop Square renovation to begin Fall 2009

In June 2008 I attended a meeting regarding the renovation of Winthrop Square (Minot Rose Garden), the park between Still St. and St. Paul St., by Annie Blair, Landscape Architect - Park Planner for the Town of Brookline Parks and Open Space Division. It was thought then that the renovation would begin in Spring 2009, but according to the Events/Schedule page of the Friends of the Minot Rose Garden website, the renovation is slated to begin September 2009 and
improvements include repairing the perimeter fence, replacing the toddler play equipment, replacing all the benches and providing a variety of seating options, replacing the concrete walkways, and improving internal circulation, replacing diseased crabapple trees, removing the brick planter beds and replacing the [Friends of the Minot Rose Garden] toolbox. For more information contact Annie Blair. . . at Ann_Blair@town.brookline.ma.us. or 617-730-2616.
